THE MODEL

Turn Guest Recovery Into Measurable Financial Impact

Unrecovered guests are not just a service issue — they are a direct driver of financial performance across the U.S. hospitality industry. Research shows that a one-star drop in online ratings can reduce RevPAR by 5% to 9%1, making reputation one of the most powerful revenue levers in modern hotel operations.

At the same time, most businesses recover only 26% of dissatisfied guests2, leaving significant revenue on the table. Operationally, each service failure carries a hidden cost. Industry data estimates that a single unresolved issue can cost up to $179 in time, labor, and lost productivity3 — before any compensation is even considered.

Yet, compensation itself is often inconsistent and inefficient, with many organizations relying on reactive, unstructured approaches that lead to unnecessary revenue leakage.

The RESOLVE Difference

RESOLVE addresses this gap

RESOLVE transforms Guest Recovery into a structured, data-driven methodology, executed through its own web and mobile software platform — with AI built into every stage, enhancing leadership judgment without replacing it.

By structuring every recovery, hotels can:

  • Reduce compensation inefficiencies
  • Increase guest recovery and retention
  • Protect and enhance online reputation
  • Continuously refine SOPs based on real cases
  • Drive measurable improvements in RevPAR
  • Score every recovery with the Guest Recovery Score (GRS)
RESOLVETHE PULSE
The Pulse · The RESOLVE App

Every Recovery Begins the Same Way: Someone Noticed.

Before any step can happen — before any leader can act, before any case can exist — someone has to detect that a guest's experience is at risk. And most service failures are never reported at the front desk. They're mentioned in passing, to whoever happens to be there: a bartender, a housekeeper, a bellman, a valet. If no one captures that moment, the entire system stands still.

The Pulse is the RESOLVE mobile app that turns every employee into part of the hotel's detection network — the Guest Experience Keepers. No system access, no training curve, no case management. Just two functions:

1. Report in seconds.

Any employee who sees or hears that something isn't right captures it in a few taps — guest name, room number, what happened, where and when. The report flows directly into RESOLVE, ready for the recovery process to begin. Nothing depends on memory, shift changes, or hallway conversations.

2. Know who needs extra care.

The moment any guest becomes a Service Recovery Priority Guest (SRPG), every Keeper receives a notification — so heightened attention follows that guest to the pool, the restaurant, the hallway, everywhere. The entire hotel responds as one team.

Technology doesn't detect unhappy guests. People do. The Pulse makes sure that what they notice never gets lost.
Artificial Intelligence · Built Into the Methodology

Powered by AI. Guided by People.

AI runs through the entire RESOLVE web and mobile software — before a case exists, during every conversation, and after every closure. Always with the same principle: AI enhances leadership judgment. It never replaces it.

Before Step 01 · The RESOLVE Mentor

Ask Before You Open

Not every guest situation is a RESOLVE Case — and knowing the difference is where consistency begins. A guest requesting extra towels is routine service. The same towels never arriving, and the guest now frustrated, is a recovery situation. That line isn't always obvious in the moment — especially at the front desk, with a guest standing in front of you.

The RESOLVE Mentor is a conversational AI module trained end-to-end on the RESOLVE methodology. Any agent can describe a situation in plain words and receive an instant, reasoned answer: does this require a RESOLVE Case — or does it belong in normal operations?

  • If it's operational, the Mentor helps route it correctly — creating the appropriate maintenance, housekeeping, or service ticket so the issue is handled through standard procedures.
  • If it's a recovery situation, the Mentor guides the agent directly into Recognize, with the key details already captured.
  • If it's borderline, the Mentor explains the reasoning — teaching the methodology with every consultation.

The question it helps every agent answer is the one at the heart of the entire model: "Am I solving a problem, or recovering a guest's experience?"

The Mentor isn't just a filter — it's a trainer that never sleeps. Every consultation makes the team sharper at detecting the moment an operational issue becomes a Guest Recovery.

Three Indicators · One Score

Measured, Not Guessed

Every recovery is scored by combining three indicators captured along the journey:

GSI
Guest Sentiment Indicator

How the guest felt when the recovery began. (Captured at Empathize)

RRI
Recovery Response Indicator

How the guest reacted to the solution. (Captured at Launch)

RS
Resolution Status

Whether the guest confirmed the experience was restored. (Captured at Value)

Together they produce the Guest Recovery Score (GRS) — a 1-to-11 scale:

9–11  Excellent Recovery
7–8  Successful Recovery
4–6  Partial Recovery
1–3  Failed Recovery

The scoring is deliberately designed to reward the most complex recoveries: a guest who begins furious and leaves fully restored earns the maximum score, because that's the recovery that took real skill. The GRS doesn't evaluate the guest — it evaluates the hotel's ability to restore confidence.
